We had many exchanges about God and what Jimmy’s theological viewpoint was at that time. We discussed it very often and deeply. Jimmy was no puritan; to him Jesus was a champion. ‘Any guy who would do all that has got guts and balls,’ he said. ‘That’s what I like.
